Brewers
October is here, and with it, the age-old festival of beer… Oktoberfest! Which is why this month, we’re honoring Brewers. These professionals think, dream, and drink beer all day long so that you can enjoy your favorite malted beverage at a restaurant, like American Heroes & Brew, a bar, or at home on your couch.
Brewers are responsible for the entire beer production process, from start to finish, and have many responsibilities, including:
- Selecting the ingredients for each of the brews
- Overseeing the entire brewing process, from milling to fermentation and filtration.
- Sterelizing tanks, floors, and other equipment to prevent mold and pests
- Adhering to safety procedures and quality standards
- Packaging the beer by canning and kegging
- Basic laboratory work, such as measuring pH, ABV, and extract.
…And so much more! They’re busy people with important jobs, which is why we raise a toast to Brewers this month.
